Join Holy Rosary Church on a journey through the regions of Italy in 15 songs

Un Giro d'Italia in 15 canzoni.

Based on popular demand, on Sunday, April 14, 2024, Holy Rosary Church is hosting a Spring Concert entitled "Giro d'Italia in 15 Canzoni", travelling through the beautiful regions of Italy and singing the beautiful songs that depict those regions, its history, landscape and of course beautiful love lyrics.

Back in 2017, former Holy Rosary Church Pastor Father Ezio Marchetto embarked on a series of "Songs in my Suitcase" that continued each year through 2019 and then were suspended as a result of COVID. The pre-COVID anticipation was to continue with the next series of concerts.  With COVID behind us, we are so very happy to have had the full support of our current Pastor/Parochial Administrator, Father Walter Tonelotto, to commence the next series of concert's with the one scheduled for this coming Sunday.  A flyer for this program is attached for your convenience, and this concert has been announced for the last couple of months in Holy Rosary's weekly Bulletins, on our website, on our Facebook page, and in Voce Italiana.  The proceeds from this concert are to benefit Holy Rosary Church and the musicians and choir are all volunteering their time and talent towards this event.  The cost is $30 per person and includes lunch.

CiaoDC's Private Tour of Vittore Carpaccio at the National Gallery of Art

Discover the masterpieces of Venetian Renaissance Artist, Vittore Carpaccio presented in the first retrospective outside of Italy during a private one-hour tour at the National Gallery of Art on Tuesday, January 17, 1:00 p.m.  Led by Senior Lecturer,  David Gariff.

A leading figure in the art of Renaissance Venice, Vittore Carpaccio (c. 1460/1466-1525/1526) is best known for his large, spectacular narrative paintings that brought story to life.  Celebrated in his native city of Venice for centuries, beloved for his observant eye, fertile imagination, and storytelling prowess, Carpaccio remains little known - except as a namesake culinary dish, "Steak Carpaccio."

Some 45 paintings and 30 drawings will include large-scale canvases painted for Venice's charitable societies and altarpieces for church alongside smaller works that decorated the homes of prosperous Venetians.  The exhibition is organized by the National Gallery and Musei Civici di Venezia, also the organizers of the CiaoDC celebrated 2019 exhibition Tintoretto: Artist of Renaissance Venice.

CiaoDC's Private Tour Tickets are $10 per guest. Lunch option available for additional fee.  Meeting Location will be at the Gallery entrance of 6th Street.
